BGP-MS-jr. – a PC port of BGP-MS and its applications

In order to get more experiences about user modeling and more knowledge about which user modeling techniques are really helpful, these techniques must be applied. In order to make BGP-MS available for a wide range of applications, the BGP-MS project decided to make a port of its workstation-based software to the PC/DOS/MS-Windows platform. This paper describes the main aspects in which the resulting version “BGP-MS-jr.” differs from the workstation version. It also summarizes the experiences that have been made with BGP-MS-jr. when developing user modeling components for two applications, namely an adaptive hypertext system and an intelligent tutoring system.
